After you've downloaded the firmware, find it and extract it by right-clicking on it and selecting extract all or unzip. Typically, downloaded files are stored in your normal download folder; however, when requested for a download destination, choose Desktop to extract the final file or any other path that is appropriate for you. Digicap is the name of the firmware file. Run the iVMS 4200 camera management software after that. Select Device Management from the menu. Add the Camera by checking the box to the left of it and then hitting Add. You will then be invited to give the camera a name and enter your login details (username and password). By using the iVMS storage server you can simply retrieve the recordings from your CCTV cameras, and in case your DVR's or NVR's disc fails, you can find the recordings on your computer, which means that you'll have a backup. The second reason, though, is that you may access your camera's recorded data without using the DVR's hard disc, so you’re not dependent on it!

After installing iVMS-4200 and booting it up for the first time, it will prompt you to create a super user for the application. This has nothing to do with any camera system you would wish to install on it. After you've configured the super user, you may proceed with adding the camera system to the software. Then proceed to Select Device Management from the Maintenance and Management option on the far right after leaving the Main Menu tab. Luckily, if the connection information and login credentials are successfully entered, the NVR will display in white after a short time. It will fill in the Serial No. and display the Resource Usage Status as Online. However, if there is a configuration or login problem, the NVR will be grey, the Serial No. will not be filled, and the Resource Usage Status will be Offline. For a brief length of time, an error notice will show in the lower right, suggesting a connectivity or login issue. In addition, if you need to change any configuration information, click the Edit icon in the Operation section to the right of the NVR's information in the Device screen of the Maintenance and Management tab. If you make a mistake when configuring the NVR, this is handy.
There are two ways to get your Hik-Connect verification code. First, look for your verification on the device’s label. If you can't find it there, then you may retrieve the verification code using the device's Web Client or the iVMS-4200 Control Client. In order to obtain your verification code via the device's Web Client, complete the following steps: log in to the device's Web Client. Navigate to Configuration-> Network-> Advanced Settings-> Platform Access, and then click the eye symbol to get the device verification code. However, if your device has been added to the iVMS-4200 Control Client, then follow these steps to get your verification code: log in to the Control Client. Navigate to Remote Configuration-> Network-> Hik-Connect and select the device to view its verification code. It's that simple!
